A Tough February

The Love Month proved to be a challenging one for me and I'm hoping it'll end soon quietly... February is supposed to be my month, having been born on the 4th day, plus hearts day fell on this month as well. However, as early as the first few days of Feb i was again having asthma attacks and took me two whole weeks to recover.... And just when i thought everything was back to normal, my Little Princess Julia was inflicted w/ pnuemonia and was confined for 6 days in Capitol Med Ctr. I am just happy, we are back home after almost a week of stay in the said hospital.

We have three days to go before this month ends and I am confident that the worse is over and that My family and I survived with flying colors.... Time to get back on our feet and start anew.

Let me end this post with a prayer of Thanks to the Big Boss above, for always being there for me and my family no matter what... Thanks to my brothers who are always there as well, to Kuya Gie, Caloy and Rey who never grew tired of assisting their li'l sis... and to my dear freinds, Daders, Ate Paz and Agatha who i can always turn to when things go wrong... SALAMAT, SALAMAT, SALAMAT !!!

2010 .. The Year That Was...

Year 2010 brought a Lot of Memories and Lessons that go with it. There are a Lot of things I am thankful for (all the good and "not so good" stuff )and as I sit infront of my computer and scribble down my thoughts for the year that passed, Let me thank the Good Lord Above who never grow tired of Loving and Blessing me and my family despite my shortcomings ... Thank You as well to ALL My Friends who never left my side and who are just a txt/call away whenever I needed help (and mind you, I did call and txted them several times for help) and lastly to the SULIT brothers who were always there for their Little Sis... SALAMAT !!!

FR2 (Food Review): Kangaroo Jack

Had a chance to have dinner for the first time @ Kangaroo Jack a few nights ago after the Christmas Rush... Although the place was okay, food was a little bit bland (we had mozarella cheese sticks, cream of mushroom soup, baby back ribs & grilled chicken and pesto(no pix, sorry)) for our taste buds. Hubby and I glad we tried KJ so next time we know what resto's to visit and/or avoid...

SUPERB DINNER @ GILLIGANS !

The family had an impromptu dinner last night @ Gilligan's Trinoma after going to the doctor . As usual, we ordered our favorite sisig, chicken and sinigang na hipon for Julia ... It was truly a superb dinner for all of us !

FOOD REVIEW : Pizza Hut's Carbonara

Since I've been cooking pasta for a couple of years now, i try my best to stay away from ordering my "specialty" from different restos so i wouldnt get disappointed....... dont get me wrong, i dont mean to brag, its just that if you know how to cook and you know how much the ingredients cost, it is easier to know if you are being short changed or if you're getting your money's worth.
Take for example Pizza Hut's Combo meal w/ Carbonara as the main course... for just P99 you get a bowl of cream of mushroom soup, a plate of pasta and ice tea... the soup was okay, a perfect tummy filler for the hunger stomach, but the pasta was a disappointment because it felt like eating pasta soaked in creamy evap..... You would need a lot of parmessan cheese, salt and chili pepper to balance off the taste....

JUSTICE FOR THE VIZCONDES

I am deeply saddened and couldnt help but be affected by the ruling of Supreme Court Acquitting Hubert Webb and Company... for the past decade I have been following this case religiously and my heart goes to Mr Lauro Vizconde , who tried his best to remain steady and calm throughout this ordeal. Loosing his loved ones in one night is something you'll never want to happen...but having the murderers be acquitted after a decade is like killing the man over and over again...

I honestly think money and connections played a big role in turning over the previous ruling of the lower courts. I just hope and pray these people who played a role in making this unjust decision will be able to sleep tonight and wake up in the morning and can still hold their heads up high.

Let me end this entry by saying a special prayer for Mr Vizconde, that although it seems he lost this fight, to me He will always be the Big Guy I'll look up to, fighting tooth and nail for justice to be served to his Loved ones.... No amount of millions or connections can top that !

Shouting Match But Englightenment After...

A couple of hours ago, Hubby and I had a "little arguement that eventually lead to a mini shouting match inside the family car " (we cant do it in our little apartment otherwise the whole compound will hear about it ) ... the heated exchange of words continued on as we were doing our grocery and until we arrived at home.. But after letting out the tension and a couple of tears, things began to mellow down and we started to talk and learned to iron out our differences. Although the main reason of our shouting match is still unresolved, but at least now we have a different perspective of solving things.

I remember reading an Article a few days ago by Bo Sanchez about a fight he and his wife had some years back. It was a shouting match as well that ended in tears , both threatening to go on their separate ways.... A familiar line that couples say as they exchange angry words. But later on, when cooler heads prevail we take back all the hurtful words and learn to forgive, love again and never imagined that we even considered of going on separate ways as an option.

I Have to Get Better !

Yesterday I went to my Pulmonologist (2nd time in less than a week) because of the asthma attacks that's been bothering me for a couple of days now. So after waiting for almost 3 hours for my turn, the Doctor had no choice but to prescribed an inhaler and painkillers for my headaches, and rest for a couple days more. To make matters worse, said new medicines were so expensive that left me a couple of thousands poorer. I never thought asthma meds can be that expensive. I was shocked and stunned, and walked home like a zombie, mentally computing how to adjust the household budget because the unexpected expense. It was almost dark when I got home and found Hubby and Little Julia napping the afternoon away .

What brought me back to my senses was when I watched my Little Julia sleeping soundly in his Daddy's arms. For a couple of minutes, I just sat and watch my precious one and right then and there, I realized I have to get well for my Little one. No matter how expensive the my medicines are, I know I have to take them so I can be 100% for my Little Girl. How can i guide her in this journey called life if Mommy is not in the pink of health.

So starting today, I've decided to get better and with the help of my expensive meds, i know i can kick out this stubborn asthma out of my system!

Decided to Shift Gears

For the past couple of days I've been asking for signs weather to switch networks... First sign came last week when we had problems with renumeration.... then came the dreams involving colleagues and that finally made the difference. So finally, after nights of contemplating I've decided to shift gears as we enter the last quarter of the year. It'll be a big switch for me and as my "kapatid" would say its not a bed of roses, i know i'll be in good hands because i have friends waiting for me at the other side of the fence.

DOWN W/ ASTHMA

I was finally bitten by the Asthma bug..... Well you see my brothers got it but I never thought I'd follow their footsteps because for one, I dont smoke and I rarely drink nowadays. But as the saying goes, if its in the blood, its in the blood... I just hope my Little Princess will not get it because it no joke coughing your lungs out with matching headache.... or sleeping in a sitting position because once you lay down on your back, you'll soon feel the attack coming.

I'm looking forward that my breathing will be back to normal again soon so i can sleep soundly at night :)

A day of Card and \ Palm Reading

Today marks a new chapter in hubby's career as he launched his card and palm reading skills in the office when he was commissioned to participate in a pre-halloween activity. it was a tiring and draining day for him as he read dozens and dozens of agents for eight (8) straight hours. Glad that even though it drained his energies, he enjoyed the experience.

Hopefully this will open new doors for him and will broaden his horrizon while our little Princess and I stay on the sidelines, cheering him on.

Wala Lang ....

Do you sometimes get the feeling that you're in not going anywhere.... not doing anything....not moving, but not growing....

This Rainy Friday gives me the Blues... couldnt help but feel trapped at a dead end, and no where to go but back track a little and do a detour... sometimes you're so excited that things are finally coming true but at the last minute, an obstacle will come up to test my patience and determination.... Sadly, most often than not, i give in and get stuck in this "Wala Lang " and get the habbit of going back and think about things that "could've been" - a deadly game of regret ....The good thing about games and is even if you loose , you can always start anew and give your best shot to win the next round.

And from "Wala Lang" state... one can always bounce back and try to make something out of Nothing.....

JULIA'S FIRST CHILDREN'S PARTY .....

Last Saturday Julia attended her first Official Children's Party and it took a while for her to warm up (as always) Party was almost over when she started to stroll around happily , but nevertheless, we had fun . Glad that My Friend Tina and hubby Baret was happy with how the party came out to be despite the short prep.

And to our Little Cleona, may you grow up as beautiful, warm, wise and talented as your Mom and Dad:)

Some "ME" Time

Hubby and Li'l Princess is taking a short nap and here i am, all by myself trying to finish off camp rock 2 movie and blogging away....Moments like these are precious.. when you only have an hour or two for yourself, trying to pamper yourself with whatever resources available ( its dvd and internet this afternn) .... There's still the household budget to attend to and a full-script to read but for the meantime, i'm putting things on hold to give me a moment to recharge and enjoy the day.

Afternoon of Good Food and Good chicka

The Other day, my friend Kaye and I decided to unwind with an afternoon of good Food and Good Chicka at Nena's Bibingka in Cubao/Puregold. It was a spur of the moment thing, but it was worth it as we made chika about family and friends.
My usual favorite is a plateful of Okay and Tokwa't baboy .... While the kakanin especially the UBE Halaya is really good and a must-try. All told, for P75 you really get one of the best deal.
We ended the day with a promise to be back next week with Our Little Sis Eca before the stork delivers her first born....

Our First Spa-Experience

A lot have been said and written about pampering yourselves with a body massage from a reputable spa but Hubby and I only had the chance to experience it a couple of weeks ago when a dear friend gave us GC's for our wedding. We've always wanted to use it after My Big Day but we had a thousand and things to do until the GC expired. Good thing the people from Urban Escape Day Spa were kind enough to extend it for another week so we had the chance to have a blissful and relaxing moment.
Over-all, the experience was superb and we promise to come back soon once our schedule and budget permits......
To my kapatid Bel, Thanks again for the wonderful gift !
