OUR KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

For the past year, hubby and I had a problem looking for the best kindergarten school for Our Little Princess Julia who got traumatized in her nursery class last year. So from them on she despised school . Last summer we enrolled her in 2 summer schools just to get her acquainted with the classroom environment. The first summer school was quite costly for a 8-session class but at least my Princess got warmed up at the 6th session hehehe

Finally, we came across Bright Tree Kinder Care center. From day 1 Julia liked the atmosphere and enjoyed going to school. So when regular classes came, getting ready for school was no longer a gruelling task in the morning.

However, it was not a bed of roses for us, for Julia wouldnt engage in school activities. Yes she enjoyed going to school but wont participate in singing/dancing /circle time session or play with her classmates . This alarmed her Teacher Doreen (mid-40's, who's been teaching for 15 years now) who took time out to talk to us after 2 weeks of classes. From then on, she is totally hands on on Julia's progress, going on an extra-mile to help us find a developmental pedia to evaluate Julia. Also we would receive little notes indicating her progress. Not only that, Julia came home the other day with a writing book to work on at her own pace for practice so Julia can familiarize herself in holding a pen ,more so write so she wont be left behind. This act of gesture really touched me because rarely do you meet someone who would go out of their way to show concern for your daughter.

A decade and a half ago, I read Leo Buscaglia's book on how important the The Things We Learn From Kindergarten ... For adults, these little things may be trivial but if you think about it, the little lessons in Kindergarten are The Lessons that get instilled in our system/personality, Lessons that we bring to our adulthood.

This is the same reason why I appreciate Teacher Doreen in Our life, knowing that there's a Kindergarten Teacher who guides Julia to believe in herself and come out of her shell, and be the best and beautiful person as she can be.

Truly, we are blessed and grateful for having a wonderful Kindergarten Teacher.
