Almost a month ago I finally had the chance to join Creative Dev Group with new and passionate writers ... The first few minutes was nerve-wrecking for me because its a whole new group, that they've been working /bonded together for a couple of weeks now and to top it all i think i'm the oldest in the group (older than our captain, direk lino) ... but eventually , when the ideas started pouring in, we found ourselves in the same level chatting and brainstorming the hours away. Now , almost 4 weeks after, here i am doing my first major deadline, getting ready to pitch (but that's a different story to write) trying to gather my thoughts and put them into writing.
Looking now at my new writing family, I couldnt help but smile as it seems that i have come into full circle... you see a decade ago, i was the newbie trying to find my way around the writing world with Tita A as my mentor and guide... Now i found myself doing the same role, guiding new writers and sharing best practices, and more than anything, forming friendships as we go along the way.
