I was finally bitten by the Asthma bug..... Well you see my brothers got it but I never thought I'd follow their footsteps because for one, I dont smoke and I rarely drink nowadays. But as the saying goes, if its in the blood, its in the blood... I just hope my Little Princess will not get it because it no joke coughing your lungs out with matching headache.... or sleeping in a sitting position because once you lay down on your back, you'll soon feel the attack coming.
I'm looking forward that my breathing will be back to normal again soon so i can sleep soundly at night :)
Life is a constant journey and full of surprises. The roads may sometimes be rough because of the unexpected turns but just move on.... you'll eventually get there

A day of Card and \ Palm Reading
Today marks a new chapter in hubby's career as he launched his card and palm reading skills in the office when he was commissioned to participate in a pre-halloween activity. it was a tiring and draining day for him as he read dozens and dozens of agents for eight (8) straight hours. Glad that even though it drained his energies, he enjoyed the experience.
Hopefully this will open new doors for him and will broaden his horrizon while our little Princess and I stay on the sidelines, cheering him on.

Wala Lang ....
Do you sometimes get the feeling that you're in not going anywhere.... not doing anything....not moving, but not growing....
This Rainy Friday gives me the Blues... couldnt help but feel trapped at a dead end, and no where to go but back track a little and do a detour... sometimes you're so excited that things are finally coming true but at the last minute, an obstacle will come up to test my patience and determination.... Sadly, most often than not, i give in and get stuck in this "Wala Lang " and get the habbit of going back and think about things that "could've been" - a deadly game of regret ....The good thing about games and is even if you loose , you can always start anew and give your best shot to win the next round.
And from "Wala Lang" state... one can always bounce back and try to make something out of Nothing.....

JULIA'S FIRST CHILDREN'S PARTY .....

Last Saturday Julia attended her first Official Children's Party and it took a while for her to warm up (as always) Party was almost over when she started to stroll around happily , but nevertheless, we had fun . Glad that My Friend Tina and hubby Baret was happy with how the party came out to be despite the short prep.
And to our Little Cleona, may you grow up as beautiful, warm, wise and talented as your Mom and Dad:)

Families to the Rescue
Whenever i'm in financial crisis, my brother are always to the rescue.... willing to lend without any questions asked... I know this is what FAMILY is all about... i'm just lucky that i can always turn to them no matter what.
Hopefully when all is well, i can return the favor to them anytime. And hopefully that will be soon !!!!

Some "ME" Time
Hubby and Li'l Princess is taking a short nap and here i am, all by myself trying to finish off camp rock 2 movie and blogging away....Moments like these are precious.. when you only have an hour or two for yourself, trying to pamper yourself with whatever resources available ( its dvd and internet this afternn) .... There's still the household budget to attend to and a full-script to read but for the meantime, i'm putting things on hold to give me a moment to recharge and enjoy the day.

Afternoon of Good Food and Good chicka

The Other day, my friend Kaye and I decided to unwind with an afternoon of good Food and Good Chicka at Nena's Bibingka in Cubao/Puregold. It was a spur of the moment thing, but it was worth it as we made chika about family and friends.
My usual favorite is a plateful of Okay and Tokwa't baboy .... While the kakanin especially the UBE Halaya is really good and a must-try. All told, for P75 you really get one of the best deal.
We ended the day with a promise to be back next week with Our Little Sis Eca before the stork delivers her first born....
Our First Spa-Experience

A lot have been said and written about pampering yourselves with a body massage from a reputable spa but Hubby and I only had the chance to experience it a couple of weeks ago when a dear friend gave us GC's for our wedding. We've always wanted to use it after My Big Day but we had a thousand and things to do until the GC expired. Good thing the people from Urban Escape Day Spa were kind enough to extend it for another week so we had the chance to have a blissful and relaxing moment.
Over-all, the experience was superb and we promise to come back soon once our schedule and budget permits......
To my kapatid Bel, Thanks again for the wonderful gift !

There are good days.... And not so good days....
Its dark outside, the sun has finally bid goodbye for the day as the moon and stars slowly make their way ... here I am watching my Princess doze off after almost an hour of handling her tantrums... (you know how todlers are when they try to fight off sleep)... and hubby is being consistent, throwing a tantrum as well just like his copy cat so i shooed him away to sleep.
Times like this make me sad.... I dont know why but i feel like going out of the house, go to the nearest mall, stroll, order pasta and ice cream and just be myself just for an hour or two... Or better yet, head off to the nearest spa and have a massage.... But that's wishful thinking specially if you're trying your best to stretch your finances to the next payday which is still a week away.....
So here I am with my "nini" in my lap, pouring out my thoughts as i sit beside my sleeping princess ..... I know its not one of my best nights but i guess i'm still lucky i get this time for myself and watch my Little Girl in an "ordinary/boring way".
I wouldn't trade places with a colleague who is watching close his Son in the hospital fighting off the dengue disease which I am confident that He will bounce back to recovery soon with all our love and prayers.....
Or be in the shoes of a Friend who holds a high position and receives probably triple or quadraple of what i get monthly but is faced with tons of stress and problems in her workplace which i'm sure she'll be able to surpass with flying colors and chin held high....
Or be like My Carefree Friend living a fast paced and comfortable life but not really sure what she's after, what will really make her happy and content .....
I know its been said a lot of times that we should count Our Blessings and not fret or whine for things we dont have.... So let me end this entry with a pat on my little Princess' cheek while still watching her sleep and a conclusion that there are good days and there are "not so good days".... and let this be one of those days......

MY JULIA'S ACHIEVEMENT

Hubby came home last Tuesday beaming with a big smile as he held out Our little Princess' Certificate along with her Report Card. Honestly, we werent expecting she'll be receiving anything since she's been absent lately due to illness but I guess she realy "has it". So proud and happy, I posted it right away for all to see. I know we're just on our first year of education and still has 2 decades to go but in the meantime, let us enjoy this milestone because she trully deserves it.

ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY ...
So glad and thankful that My Little Julia is on her way to recovery after suffering from fever, rashes and mouth sores. And I am relieved when her pedia explained what she is going thru (Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease in Children), a viral disease which usually affects children below 5 years old .Nothing serious although of course, you wouldnt want your Little One experience any pain or discomfort. If you can only spare them from such ordeal.
Anyway, so happy that she is slowly bouncing back and on the way to recovery. She can now finish off a KFC one-pc chicken order and/or rounds of dinner..... She is also back in her "kulit and kalat" ways with her toys all over the floor.
Hopefully in a day or two everything will be back to normal again...... And I can really say goodbye to this ugly Viral Disease !

Worried About My Princess....
My Little Julia is still not in the pink of health and i'm really worried about it. Aside from being cranky , she lost her appetite and couldnt eat anything excepta half bowl of noodles.... she lost a lot of weight already and if this will continue on, we might end up in the hospital huhuhu.....
I'll do anything and everything just to take the pain away...Hope she'll get well soon

MY PRINCESS IS SICK ... huhuhu
This morning had to rush home from work for my daughter who is down w/fever with a temp of 39.4 ... Good thing my boss was kind and understanding enough to let me go home after just rendering 3 hrs of work. The drive home felt so long when in fact it took me arnd 2o mins given it was Sunday.
Having a sick daughter is one of the worst thing every mom goes through. If only you can spare her from all the pain in the world, you'll gladly do it... but life doesnt work that way. I am just hoping and praying after tonight, everything will be back to normal again, so my little Princess can sing and dance till late at night, singing all the barney songs she so loved.
I know its going to be a long night for me, hubby and Julia... but we're keeping our fingers crossed we can kick off this fever by tomorrow !!!

Turning Down Opportunities
A couple of days ago i was excited about a possible writing job with an independent group. After series of calls from said independent group and from friends, and after giving it a serious thought, i've decided to turn down the opportunity so not to jeopardize my "comeback".
Sad that after a five-year hiatus I've realized that some things havent changed at all, that you have to dance to the network's music to survive. People are still as possessive and can be demanding. I'm just holding on to the thought that i'll be working with friends again and that makes my decision to stay worth while.

Writing Possibilities
Yesterday got a surprise call from a production house asking if i would be interested in a writing job with them and if i can drop by their office for an interview. At first I was apprehenssive because its been a more than five years since i've been asked for a job interview.
More than anything, I am thankful for the possibilities of writing again.... First with ABS-CBN my original network with friends,.... and if that doesnt work, glad to know that I have friends as well in the other network offering other options.
I am not sure what have i done to deserve this second chance in writing, I guess somebody Up there heard my prayer. And I am really thankful and happy.
Now making something out of this possibilities is another story which literally and figuratively. A story which i have to write well in order to deserve these blessings from above.

NINI ..MY NEW " BABY"
People say Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.... but I refused to believe because that was the day I got my new baby... NINI ... A Neo basic netbook that i can use as i revive my writing career. I am really grateful for having friends who are always there to help me physically, emotionally and even financially in pursuing my dreams.
For now i'm still toying and thinkering around my new tool, trying to get used to it and enjoying every minute of it...:)

Writing and Adrenalin Rush ...
Its been half a decade since i last felt this... the adrenalin rush when you are writing and trying to beat the deadline. Your mind is going crazy, as you strike the keyboards overtime while your heart pounds loudly as you try to finish everything on one go!. its a crazy but addictive feeling .... but honestly i felt happy after typing the last sentence because it felt so familiar and comfortable.... I know i'm rambling and ranting, and what i'm saying may not make any sense .... I guess what i'm trying to say is, once a writer, will always be a writer !!!!

VXI BAZAAR ... A FUN & PRODUCTIVE ADVENTURE

Last weekend some high school friends and I had a chance to try our hand in the "Tiangge" world by participating in a 3-day bazaar. Although it was tiring, the experience was worth it. We are planning to make a career out of it and eventually open our own formal business. In the meantime, we're taking things one step at a time and enjoying every minute of it !

Strike Anywhere ...

I took Julia to Trinoma this afternoon after school for our usual " mall dates" and wait for hubby. However, after a few bites of Chicken Joy, she decided to doze off the afternoon in one of the couches in Jollibee Trinoma. For an hour, i watched her sleep and upto now couldnt help but be amazed on how big she has grown... Holding her in my arms still gives me joy and happiness, just like what i felt 4 1/2 years ago when she came in this world.
I know in 5 to 10 years time, my Little Princess will have a different life to live but as of the moment, she's still my little Baby sleeping in Mommy's Arms

Celebrating Life ....

I have been so stressed out the past few days over our financial status that i forgot to count my blessings, It was only when i turned a listening ear to the people around me did i began to realize how minute/trivial my problems are. As my close friend would often tell me when i worry/fret about money, " pera lang yan... kikitain mo rin yan..."
So today , after getting a " Little Blessing From Above" I've decided to Celebrate Life with My Hubby and Princess with a simple dinner. Consider it as a Kick-Off Celebration for a better and brighter future ahead.
